First coffee morning of the season!
October 4, 2025, 9–10:30 am. Start your Saturday with a social gathering! Enjoy coffee, tea, juice, and tasty treats. Baked goods are always welcome, as are donations. See you there.
Interested in helping out at future coffee mornings? Chat with this month’s coordinator, Stephanie, or helpers Eric and Mylène. Coffee mornings will be held monthly from October to May on the first Saturday of each month.

Fun Run recap
Under sunny skies, over 180 participants — including 32 enthusiastic kids — joined us for this year’s Fun Run. With the help of 32 volunteers and MODL, the event was filled with laughter and community spirit. A huge thank you to everyone who ran, walked, cheered, or helped behind the scenes. You made this event a true success!
Lands adjacent to the Broad Cove Beach — update
For more than 23 years, the Broad Cove Community Association (BCCA) has lobbied provincial and municipal governments to clarify the ownership of the lands surrounding Broad Cove Beach. Our goal has been to protect this sensitive area from harm while ensuring ongoing public access for residents and visitors.
BCCA’s vision is (1) conserve the area’s unique geographical, biological, and environmental features; (2) ensure continued public access for regulated day use; (3) prevent overnight camping and other activities that could damage the habitat or threaten community safety.
In 2024, the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg (MODL) agreed to explore the option of expropriating the land, with a view to declaring it a Conservation Area to be managed under a stewardship agreement with BCCA. In January 2025, BCCA presented its vision to MODL Council. On Feb 10, 2025, MODL Council voted to proceed with expropriation. In early September 2025, MODL officially received legal title to the land. It is now municipally owned.
This achievement marks a major step toward preserving Broad Cove beach lands for future generations. While we recognize there’s still work to do ahead, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Municipality as well as all those who contributed time, energy, and passion to this project over the past 23 years.
Hall acoustics, eh?
Quieter gatherings ahead? We’re always striving to improve the experience in our hall, especially during lively events like coffee mornings where noise levels can get high. To address this, BCCA has been exploring solutions that are effective, affordable, and respect the hall’s character.
We’re excited to announce a trial run of three sound-absorbing panels at the upcoming coffee morning on October 4th. These panels are on loan and will be removed after the event. Your feedback is important! If you attend the coffee morning, please share your thoughts with Mylène Lehoux at mylenelehoux.designer@gmail.com. We’re eager to hear how these panels affect the noise level and overall ambiance.
