We are looking for people that are interested in helping to make a braided rug for the Broad Cove Hall. You will get to learn how to make a rug and help out the community at the same time.
Any interested parties are welcome to come to the Broad Cove Hall on Monday, May 20 at 7 PM to get things started. Phyllis Price will demonstrate the steps involved and we can begin to rip and tear and sew a bit.
Bring along:
– a pair of half decent scissors,
– any corduroy or coloured denim or similar weight fabrics you might have to donate, plus
– any beige or nude panty hose or stockings (used for lacing fabrics together)
( If you don’t have fabric or hose to donate, no worries – come along anyway.)

Next rug-braiding session at the hall will be Monday June 10, 7 p.m. Bring scissors and some heavy fabrics if you have them (denim or cord jeans, heavier weight drapes, table cloths, etc.) We’ll work on a rug for the hall and you will acquire the skills to make your own rug in the process.
