Some of the Oldest Houses in English Canada: A Presentation Celebrating Lunenburg County Architecture
Jul 4 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

When Lunenburg was founded in 1753,  the area we now know as the rest of Canada was sparsely occupied by Europeans. Other than the Acadian regions and Quebec, not much was going on in terms of settlement. Toronto, for example, was a French trading post in 1750. By extension, some of the oldest houses in English Canada are in Lunenburg County.

Join us at the Broad Cove Hall (7147 Highway 331) on July 4, 7 p.m., when Architect Syd Dumaresq will give an entertaining and informal walk through the Lunenburg County he loves. The illustrated talk will include slides of houses in the Broad Cove – Petite Riviere area.

Syd is a passionate sailor who supports his habit by practicing Architecture in Halifax and Chester. He and his wife Sandy live in Chester.

Admission is by free will offering with proceeds going to Broad Cove Hall. For more information call 902 677 2794.
