Fireside Chat with Syd Dumaresq: More Stories of Lunenburg County Architecture
Fourth-generation architect, Syd Dumaresq, is a passionate and knowledgeable advocate for the architecture of Lunenburg County, home of some of the oldest houses in English Canada. Two years ago, Syd entertained a packed house at the 170 year-old Broad Cove Hall with a lively illustrated story-telling session about the beautiful historic houses that dot our countryside. People were hungry for a follow-up talk to hear more, but Covid got in the way. We are pleased to announce that Syd will finally return to the Broad Cove Hall (7147 Hwy 331) on October 7 (7 – 8:30) for a Fireside Chat with “More Stories of Lunenburg County Architecture.”
Tickets are $10 each or by donation. Based on the pandemic restrictions, a limited number of tickets will be sold. To reserve your spot, please call 902 677 – 2794 Advance payment can be made by e-transfer. Proceeds from the evening will go towards accessibility renovations at the hall.
Syd is a passionate sailor who supports his habit by practicing Architecture in Halifax and Chester. Syd and wife, Sandy, live in Chester and are the proud parents of five children and nine grandchildren. Syd’s other passions are community and history.
