Coffee morning — last one before summer break!
May 2, 9–10:30 am. Start Saturday with a warm and cheerful get-together! Donations or homemade treats are always welcome. This month’s gathering is hosted by Miguel.
Adopt-a-Highway clean up
May 9, 9:30 am. Help keep Broad Cove clean and sparkly! Meet at the hall at 9:30 to get safety vests and bags. Bring your own gloves and sturdy footwear.
Bike rack
Great news — Broad Cove Hall is installing a bike rack through MODL’s Active Communities Initiative, supporting more active transportation in the community. BCCA has also joined MODL’s “Park and Explore” initiative, which encourages people to park their vehicles and get out and explore the community on foot.
Pub trivia night
May 22, 6–9 PM. Get your team together and come on out to the hall for a drink, some nachos and a chance to test your trivia knowledge of the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and more with host John DeMont! Cash bar will be open for those over 19. More details coming up soon on our website and FB page.
Standard First Aid/CPR
We are currently looking to see if there is enough interest to offer a four-hour Standard First Aid/CPR course at Broad Cove Hall. The cost would be $50.00 per person. If you are interested in attending, please contact Shelley Scott at shelleyc21@ns.sympatico.ca or (902) 430-4821. The date and time will be determined based on participant availability.
Beach garbage
A big thank you to our volunteers who’ve handled beach waste management over the past years. We really appreciate all your hard work!
In exciting news, the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg (MODL) will be taking over this job, with new garbage and recycling bins coming to Broad Cove Beach as part of a conservation stewardship agreement with the Broad Cove Community Association.
