Cousins and Surprise Pink concert
Jan 31. Doors open 8, music 8:30 pm. $15.
Cousins is a rock n roll/garage-rock/folk band led by songwriter, guitarist, drummer and all around good person Aaron Mangle (Petite Riviere NS). Surprise Pink is a Halifax based psych-rock band starring legends Jess Lewis (bass, vocals), Charles Austin (guitar) and Jordan Murphy (drums). cousinscousins.bandcamp.com
Coffee morning
Feb 1, 9–10:30 am. Donations welcome. Social time with coffee, tea, juice and treats. Baked goods always welcome. Bring your own mug and thank you for staying home when you’re not feeling well. Hosts this month: Stephanie and Elsa. (Thank you to Petite General Store for milk and cream donations.)
“Pub Night” hall fundraiser — nachos and margaritas
Feb 7, 6–9pm, $15. Live music with our talented neighbors Nick Jeffrey and Craig Thompson. Admission includes a plate of Liz’s Fiesta Nachos and your choice of beverage: a margarita, a Corona or an alcohol-free Sunbrew. If you would like to bring along an extra nacho topping to share and compare it would add to the fun! Help us keep our hall warm!
Our hall’s feeling a bit frosty lately — thanks to our propane furnace giving us the cold shoulder (and a $3000 repair bill)! We’re hoping for your assistance to take the chill off this bill and keep our hall comfortable for use. If you are able to make a donation of any size, let us know — every little bit helps! Painting With Wool workshop
February 20, 3:30 pm–6:30 pm, $20. Join instructor Amber Thompson to learn how to paint with wool! This style of needle felting is a 2D process where you use a design on a flat wool/felt sheet or another type of fabric, and then proceed to “paint” it with different colour wools using felting needles. Painting with wool is very fun and relaxing and beginner friendly. Register through MODL: www.connect2rec.com.
Broad Cove Community Association Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Saturday, March 8, 2025, 10 am. Broad Cove folks — come on out and show your support! All residents of Broad Cove are eligible to attend and become members of the association. The annual membership fee is $5.00, which entitles each person to vote at the AGM and any special business meetings. (If unable to attend in person, residents may send membership fee to Gary Herman at treasurer@broadcovehall.ca.)

Hall history: the Broad Cove Hall turns 175 this year!
